Boarding at The Heritage: We offer Modified Stall Board. Horses come into a stall twice a day for feedings, then turned back out to pasture. Bermuda hay or grass is available free choice. We feed Tribute Kalm n Ez (14%Protein, 8%Fat, 20%Fiber/NSC13.5%) up to of 4lbs 2x/day. Supplements, if provided by owner, will be administered with AM feeding. Additional requirements or different feed product are the expense and responsibility of the owner. We do not feed wet mash in the stalls.
It is recommended that you provide a lightweight waterproof sheet (preferably a Rambo/Amigo) for protection of your horse during inclement winter weather. *Only blankest WITHOUT rear leg straps will be applied to horses, for the safety of our handlers. Horses are blanketed with one waterproof sheet in the winter when temperatures drop to 30F or below and there is a cold rain. Pasture boarding horses will be blanketed for an extra. We generally do not have weather requiring confinement of horses or heavy weight blankets.
Pastures: We have a 120-acre farm with multiple trails and 20 acres divided into five separate pastures. All pastures are fenced with either PVC or smooth wire and electric. Fresh water and trace mineral salt blocks are available in each pasture. Three smaller paddocks are available for short term individual use at an extra fee. We do not offer long term individual turnout. Mares & geldings are pastured separately with generally 3 to 8 horses/pasture depending on size of the pasture.
The Barn: Is a 12-stall facility with security cameras and owners live on the property. Stalls are 12×12 with sliding doors to the interior aisle, and windows to the outside. Stalls have rubber mats. Stalls are mostly used for feeding times. A hot/cold wash rack and several crossties in the hallway are provided for grooming. The boarders’ tack room has permanent tack lockers with saddle racks and bridle hooks.
Riding Facilities: 100’ x 200’ sand lighted riding arena, 60’ diameter round pen and trails through our woods are available to our boarders. There are also trails at the Fant’s Grove area for your riding enjoyment.
Health Care: The Heritage uses Palmetto Equine Hospital and requires that all horses receive WEST NILE, EEE, WEE, TETANUS, FLU, RHINO vaccinations in the spring and WEST NILE, EEE, WEE, TETANUS, FLU, RHINO and RABIES in the fall. A yearly COGGINS is also required. Horses are dewormed according to fecal testing results as part of our boarding program and as prescribed by our vet. Our vet visits 2x/year for vaccinations. The use of a different vet is at owner’s discretion. All vet bills will be the responsibility of the owner and arrangements for payment should be made with the Vet Clinic. In the event of a medical emergency or injury, the veterinarian on call will be contacted by management and the owner notified.
Farrier Services: The farrier for The Heritage is Steve Fox of Seneca, SC. Steve makes regular visits to the farm every six weeks. He is knowledgeable in normal and corrective trimming and shoeing. If you are interested in having Steve shoe your horse and cannot be here, please make arrangements with Management, we can handle your horse for a minimal charge. If a different farrier is preferred, owners are responsible for the arrangements and must be in attendance. Unless prior arrangements are made, farrier fees are due at the time the service is rendered.
